Resumo
Introduction: residents face stressor factors that affect their mental health, impacting the professional's well-being and compromising patient care. Objective: describe the profile and demands of residents treated by mental health service. Methodology: descriptive, cross-sectional research, with a quantitative approach, carried out by consulting medical records of residents treated between June 2019 and December 2022. Results: from 68 participants, the majority were female, single, without children and were referred by a supervisor. The main demand was emotional difficulty related to personal factors, followed by symptoms of stress. Conclusion: the profile of residents treated is consistent with literature, however, the form of access (referral by supervisor) and residency programs (multidisciplinary) that most sought the service differ. Mental health support services, such as the one described in this study, contribute to the well-being of residents, which can result in better care provided.
