Resumo

Objective: to identify the clinical and sociodemographic characteristics, as well as the demands of medical students attended by a mental health support service at a College, from June 2019 to December 2022. Method: observational and descriptive study, with documentary research through medical record consultation. Results: the public attended at the service was predominantly female (51.7%), aged between 20-25 years (59.3%), and were in the early years at the time of the first consultation - 22.9% from the 1st year and 28% from the 2nd year. Psycho-pedagogical difficulties ranked first among demands, followed by interpersonal relationships and intrafamily conflicts. Conclusion: the population and the main demands found converged with what is reported by similar services. The greatest benefit of the study was to reveal the characteristics of the attended population and enable future improvement of the service provided.
