Objective: To analyze the follow-up of children notified for congenital syphilis in a healthcare region in the Federal District. Method: Cross-sectional study with secondary data from congenital syphilis notification forms from the Notifiable Diseases information system. Results: 216 notifications of congenital syphilis carried out between January/2018 to December/2019 were analyzed. It was found that 60.6% of pregnant women received the diagnosis during prenatal care, of which only 11.6% underwent appropriate treatment. Regarding children, 81.5% were born alive and the follow-up was considered adequate in 29.0% of the cases. Conclusion: Laboratory follow-up was not carried out in most of the reported cases. More than half of the pregnant women received prenatal care, but prevention actions were insufficient to properly diagnose and treat them, as well as their partners.
