Objective: To analyze the cases of syphilis in pregnant women living in the Southwest Health Region of the Federal District. Methods: Cross-sectional study with secondary data extracted from medical records and notification forms of syphilis in pregnant women. For statistical analysis we used confidence intervals considering a 5% significance level (95%CI). Results: Analyzed 438 cases of syphilis in pregnant women notified between 2018 and 2019 with incidence rate of 15.9 and 20.4 cases per thousand live births, respectively. The mean age of pregnant women was 25 years and most of them had prenatal care 88.1% (95% CI 87.1 - 89.1). Most cases were notified by hospital units 74.9% (95%CI 73.1 - 76.6) and the date of notification in 33.8% (95%CI 31.7 - 35.9) of cases was the same date of delivery. Conclusion: The results found in this study may provide subsidies for the discussion of health strategies that contribute to the prevention of vertical transmission of syphilis in the region.
