Vulnerable Parenting: Psychological Prenatal Care and Reducing Maternal Psychological Distress During the Pandemic

Abstract The pandemic has put parenthood in a vulnerable place for everyone, generating new challenges for women's experience of perinatality and parenthood. This study is an action research, cross-sectional, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, which will present the results of the final phase of the research, referring to the evaluation of the effects of Psychological Prenatal Care (PNP) in reducing maternal psychological distress. The results were positive in terms of the effectiveness of PNP in preventing postpartum depression and reducing psychological distress with regard to perinatal and parenting issues, even during the pandemic.
